Spare students from agony: Lok Satta

The Lok Satta Party has asked the State Government to clear all tuition fee reimbursement and scholarship dues and spare students from further avoidable agony.

Party leaders Eeda Chennayya and P. Hanumantha Rao said in a statement that no deserving student should be denied access to higher education because of his/her inability to afford it.

They wanted the Government to act with foresight and prevent such situations from arising in future.

  1. I came across a news clipping related to this story. Due to the inclusion of the new category of BC's in the fee reimbursement list, there has been a landslide increase in the number of students qualifying for this category. How can any government in a long term sustain such situation, where do you think the revenue will come for the government for paying for such schemes.

I thought that Lok Satta would have given a morde amicable statement, by looking at the feasibility of such schemes on ground. Instead it has given a statement like any other political party. The current leaders must really think not only in favor of the people, but also for the governments in times of trouble.

I would really appreciate if Lok Satta can bring out a feasibility report on the current programmes in state that were started in haste by late YSR, that are currently in trouble because of the lack of funds.

  3. Uday, Thank you very much for the article. It is indeed a great article with the views presented aptly not only on the current fee reimvursement problem bu also on the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rajiv Gandhi Madhyamika Siksh Mission (RMSA)programs.

I have started to follow this blog since last week, and hence I was unaware of the related post. It could be really great if you can incorporate the 'Related Items' feature for this blog.

Incidentally in the current news release, there was no mention of the letter to the CM.
