Malkajgiri will create history by voting for dharma: Dr. JP

Dharma is definitely going to triumph over money in the defining contest for the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seat, asserted Loksatta Party national President and party candidate Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan.

Malkajigiri is becoming the staging ground for cleansing the present corrupt political and electoral system, Dr. JP told a media conference.

Dr. JP said people in the constituency, transcending their affiliations to caste and religion, region and language are determined to vote for a leader of integrity, maturity and vision.

Dr. JP said that people have showered their love and affection in abundance, come forward to work as volunteers unmindful of scorching heat and contributed their mite for his campaign.

He could boldly affirm that he alone has carried on his campaign legally, constitutionally and democratically and asked whether any other candidate could make such a claim.

Dr. JP pledged himself to work for ensuring a bright future for the people of Malkajgiri, the twin cities, the two States and the entire country. He recalled that the Loksatta had laid a strong foundation for the development of the two emerging States by getting a number of provisions incorporated in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Bill and the Prime Minister’s statement.

Dr. JP said that at a time people are asking for quality education, healthcare, livelihood and employment opportunities, and uninterrupted power supply, short-sighted leaders are trying to garner their votes by offering sops and inducements. People would have a bright future only when they elect competent and honest candidates who work for them, and not those who work for themselves and their children. The elections are about the future of voters and not of their leaders. The vote is a powerful weapon in the hands of people. They should use the freedom they have to shape their destiny by choosing right candidates.

Dr. JP pointed out that the Loksatta decided to support BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi because he has stood for reviving the economy, creating jobs, preserving the country’s unity and ensuring good governance. The Loksatta will support all BJP candidates in the Lok Sabha seats except those who seek to perpetuate dynasty or have criminal antecedents.

In to a reply to a question, Dr. JP said he would strive for improving drinking water, drainage and sewerage facilities in Hyderabad by spending Rs.7000 crore over the next three years. He would bring relief and solace to people living in Jawaharnagar and surroundings who are undergoing immense suffering because of the dumping of untreated garbage in a large landfill there. He would pursue the party’s demand for a per capita grant of Rs.1000 to every ward so that immediate and pressing needs of local people could be met by elected representatives. He would ensure that the right to Government services becomes a reality and Hyderabad is rid of power shortages. He would see to it that the National Urban Health Mission is rolled out. He would work for creation of a crore of jobs every year in the manufacturing sector for the next ten years.

State Loksatta Party President Katari Srinivasa Rao and party leaders Bandaru Ramamohan Rao and V. Vijayender Reddy took part in the media conference.
