Naidu brought in money politics: JP

Lok Satta founder president Jayaprakash Narayan on Tuesday shot pointed questions to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on the cash-for-vote scam. Referring to the tape released on the issue, JP dared Naidu whether he would quit as Chief Minister if it was proved that the voice in the tape was not doctored and it was that of Naidu.

Speaking to the media here, JP referred to the talk of Rs 5 crore bribe and said that it was Naidu who brought huge amounts into politics and his successor YSR had nurtured it.  JP wanted Naidu to say whether the TDP MLA (Revanth Reddy) tried to buy votes in the MLC elections or not; whether it was done with the knowledge of Naidu or not and whether  an MLA would give such a huge amount for buying one vote without Naidu’s approval and instigation.

JP further questioned as to why Naidu had failed to take action against the MLA (Revanth) if he had tried to buy an MLA without his (Naidu’s) knowledge. The Lok Satta leader decried Naidu instigating the people of the state on the issue and asked for a CBI probe in to the scam.
